History

Founded in 1930

Founded in 1930 by Rev. Zientek and Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, Sacred Heart Catholic School has been providing a faithful, Catholic education for over 90 years in La Grange. We serve students in Pre-K 3 through 6th grade.

Sacred Heart offers a strong core academic program, physical education, music, and religion. Students in grades 2 – 6 have the opportunity to compete in academic events at the Private School Interscholastic Meet. Religious education is offered daily and extends into al other areas of the curriculum to instill high moral standards, to nourish a cooperative attitude among students, and to enhance the overall development of the whole Christian person. Students attend Mass once a week and also assist in preparing and performing parts of the liturgy. The library is available daily and students alternate weeks between library classes and Makerspace.

Our students take the NWEA MAP Growth standardized test to monitor progress and to best meet our student’s needs. Our class testing scores are consistently above the national average.

Built in 1987

Our current bulding was built in 1987.  Interior renovations are being done the summer of 2023 and students in PreK 3 - Grade 6 will all be in the same building.
